Enter Universe.
To concept, design, and fabricate fully custom activations that brought each brand to life. As the spatial designer, I designed and created visuals for over 30 environments and elements.
Art installations: Interactive environments that set Universe apart from other tech conferences and inspired attendee engagement.
Interactive hangouts: A hybrid art installation for the developer lounge increased brand awareness through engaging experiences.
Developer lounge: Demo stations with layouts built for connection promoted interaction between developers and technical leadership on site.
From technical to tactile, an emphasis on beautiful experiential elements, creative art installations, and carefully curated environment set the GitHub Universe apart.
Cutting-edge creative.
As the spatial designer I collaborated with the creative team to create a festivalized “sponsor alley” that activated each brand, aligning their purpose with Github’s overall conference identity. These included art installations, developer lounges, interactive hangouts, and expo booths in a marketplace format.
We built a community-based event where current and potential users networked, learned, and interacted with GitHub and partner products. No installation was off-the-shelf, ensuring every experience was distinct from the next. Our strategy:
Creating highly customized sponsorship packages to give sponsors the most true-to-brand experience on site
Designing multi-tiered packages from static art installations to immersive brand environments with demo and lounge capabilities
A transformational stage design.
To optimize the space parameters and ensure content access for all attendees, we brought to life Github’s first-ever stage in the round, which was also leveraged as three distinct breakout rooms.
This circular design gave a unique look and feel to a conference that created an unexpected and dynamic atmosphere for both speakers and attendees.
This design also increased seating, as the last row is about the halfway point in a traditional stage layout.
